As a part of a QC check, you will be asked to assess the stage and latex of the bananas.

Latex

• Lite = Little to no latex when cut open
• Medium = Average amount of latex when cut open
• Heavy = High volume of latex when cut open

Stage at Receiving

Strella evaluates non-gassed bananas on a scale from 1.0 - 1.75 at receiving. Stage 1.5 and 1.75 should be rare and likely indicator of other receiving quality concerns.

1.0 = All green banana

1.25 = Slight color break on shoulder

1.5 = Moderate color break on shoulder

1.75 = Significant color break on shoulder.

2.0 = Fruit has already been gassed
